Privacy and data
Last updated
You do not need an account to use Ready to Pray. Your selected location, settings and counters are saved in your browser rather than a Ready to Pray account.
What is stored on your device
Local browser storage holds your selected city or coordinates, calculation settings, reminder preferences, travel checks, confirmed Ramadan dates, dhikr counts, the names of Allah you mark as memorised and any delivery-test answers you choose to record. Offline files are stored in the browser’s cache. These preferences are separate for each browser, device and website domain.
If you turn on the optional prayer tracker, it keeps which prayers you ticked on which days, excused and paused days and its own settings in the same browser storage. It is not sent anywhere unless you export it or share a card you have previewed.
Optional location and compass access
Ready to Pray asks for device location only when you choose a location or travel-check button. Prayer calculations and coordinate-to-time-zone lookup happen on your device; the application does not send those coordinates to a prayer-time API. There is no background location tracking in this website.
When you use your current location, Ready to Pray names it after the nearest town, which it finds on your device in a list of towns from GeoNames. The website downloads only the part of that list for your band of latitude, five degrees wide; your coordinates are not sent.
The phone compass uses direction-sensor data when you enable it. You can stop the compass and manage location permission in your browser or device settings.
External services and normal web requests
- Connection information: ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser details, is processed to deliver the website and protect it from misuse.
- City search: when you search for a city, your search text is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. Prayer times are calculated separately on your device.
- Fonts: this version loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to request those font files.
- Source links: links to Adhan, Qur’an pages or narration sources open their respective websites when you follow them.
Notifications
Browser notification permission is requested when you turn on or test browser reminders. No closed-page push subscription service is connected in this version. You can revoke this site’s notification permission in your browser settings.
Analytics and advertising
Ready to Pray does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Remove saved data
Use your browser’s site-data settings to clear data for readytopray.com. This removes local preferences, counters and cached offline files in that browser. Location and notification permissions can be revoked separately. You will need to select your location and settings again after clearing the data.
Voluntary feedback
Feedback is optional. If you send a message, it and any email address you provide are stored privately to handle your request. Prayer settings, reminders and location are not attached.
