Accessibility at Ready to Pray

Last updated

Prayer times should be easy to read and operate. This version improves text size, contrast, keyboard navigation and labels across the timetable and settings.

Reading and resizing

Main text is larger, supporting text is darker and important controls have larger targets. The layout adapts to narrow screens and browser zoom. Calendar tables can scroll sideways because they compare dates and prayer times in rows.

Keyboard use

Use Tab and Shift + Tab to move through controls. The first link skips to the main content. Visible focus outlines show where you are. Enter or Space activates the appropriate buttons; Escape closes a dialog and returns focus to its opener.

Screen-reader information

The page has labelled navigation and main-content landmarks, a list of prayer times, machine-readable time values, labelled dialogs and named reminder switches. The countdown does not announce every second. Notification status and prayer selection are also shown in words, rather than colour alone.

Motion, sensors and sound

Reduced-motion preferences are respected. Qibla includes a numeric true-north bearing when a compass sensor is unavailable. Reminder sounds are optional and depend on your browser and system settings.

Scope of this review

We have checked representative keyboard journeys, narrow layouts, zoom reflow and rendered text contrast. This is not a claim of complete WCAG conformance or an independent accessibility certification. A full review with assistive-technology users is still needed.

Pages without JavaScript

The calculation explanation, about page, privacy information and this page are plain HTML. Live prayer calculations, the timetable controls and the Qibla compass require JavaScript. Read the calculation explanation if you need the underlying information without the interactive interface.
